For more than sixty years, Sangmyung University has advanced by educating individuals of strong character and creative ability, guided by the founding ideals of Truth, Justice, and Love. The progress we have made is the result of the unwavering dedication of our faculty, staff, and students, as well as the steadfast support of our alumni and local community.
Today, Sangmyung University faces a rapidly changing higher education landscape. Demographic shifts, the accelerating rise of artificial intelligence and digital transformation, and the growing importance of community engagement call for a thoughtful re-envisioning of our path forward.
In response, I will lead four major initiatives under our long-term development plan, Sangmyung 2035.
First, we will establish an ultra-flexible academic system and advance AI-powered personalized learning through innovative educational reform.
Second, we will strengthen industry partnerships aligned with regional economic needs, expanding our research and collaboration capabilities.
Third, we will enhance our communication-centered governance structure and build a more intelligent, data-informed administrative system.
Fourth, we will broaden both community-based education and international joint degree programs to deepen our local impact and global engagement.
Through these efforts, we will move forward with bold and timely innovation—shaping a university where faculty and researchers take pride in their work, where staff are recognized for their dedication, and above all, where the growth and success of our students remain at the heart of everything we do.
